not really. the gems kinda create a major distinction. the windigoes were feral spirits that fed on evil. however the dazzlings have a source to, at the very least, theri aiblity to absorve negative energy. without out it it makes me ponder what they actually are.

Why is that a bad thing? I’m quite fine with the aftermaths of epic battles being the Mane Six trying to make amends with their enemies. Sure there are some villains who refuse to accept defeat but friendship is one of the show’s main themes.

Since most of us expected the Dazzlings to have normal pony forms, I think it will eventually happen.
Oh sweet Harmony, I just realized that Sirens (what I’m pretty sure the Dazzlings really are at this point) are pretty much the aquatic version of Windigoes.

I’d laugh if banishment was something set in place by Discord and Celestia just went “…I’m good with that.” Not that that’d ever happen, but it’d be amusing.
@PonyPon
Yeah, or how I read it, the Equestrian equivalent of human mythology sirens are kelpies. They all have the ability to sing to entice other ponies, but the trio here turned truly evil and banished for that.

actually i think it is the opposite. those windigos wre slain by the friendship fire. my theory is that they found what remained of those creatures and stole their essence to gain their aiblities. they fused it into the gems. at some point the gems merged into their bodies, as seen here, and they became something more beastly.
…… what they are naturally i believe is keplies or mermares, one or the other. if this really was theri true forms they why does their oldie times depictions show them with the gems on their chests?
