Hohoho...no

Where do you think Netflix is getting all their movies and tv shows from? Hm?

Do you think they just happened upon the newest Cloverfield movie? Or Bright? Or Death Note?

No. Those were projects that studios threw away because they knew they couldn't make a profit in theaters so instead they offered to throw to them Netflix to make up any potential profits lost.

On paper, what Netflix is doing is honorable because there are a lot of tv shows or movies that get passed by because tv execs are out of touch putz's who don't know a good thing when they have it. That's what happened with Trick R Treat not being released in theaters and instead being buried and pushed to direct to dvd two years after it's scheduled release. But in practice? Companies are just using it as a dumping ground for the projects they know are going to fail, or well known mockbuster studios like The Asylum to put their trash now that rental stores are dead. Even now, I see people praising the new Lost in Space tv series despite all signs pointing to it being...well pretty bad. If nothing is said about this, its only going to get worse.
