Miyamoto tends to filp-flop with his knowledge on the Mario series as a whole. I rather think its best for him to not touch down on the subject of what's canon and non-canon. I don't think I'll appreciate the results of his final word -in.

I'm starting to get a understanding of Miyamoto's decisions and meddling with development on certain aspects of Mario games; if he didn't make it, he cares little for it...with some exceptions, but that's far in-between.
