No surprise there. They franme the laws like that so that if you dare criticize them, you'll risk appearing to support exposing children to pornography, which 1) nobody would support anyway for obvious reasons, and 2) will be fatal to a political candidate's chances of winning an election.

So, in short, it's another round of "think of the children" moral panic virtue signaling.
