I don't care about them being separate, and them being separate does not require "edit tags" to be above tag field, only that they and source area are separated.
 
P.S. You know what would be absolutely hilarious? If y'all, a year or two down the line, go "this change did not improve code-handling in any way and didn't help fix any bugs", like what happened with the UI rewrite, and, with significantly shorter time-gap, touching the image bar.
