Sigh… I wasn’t trying to “racist bait”. I was trying to reason about why people might prefer some characters being portrayed only as specific races.
 
Because that’s how they naturally feel by their accents at the very least.

I mean their candy horses, people can go off how they internet them with IRL races for just about any reason. You have yours, I have mine, everybody has their own thoughts and headcanons on race for fictional non-human characters.

Also, I think neb meant for imagined intended to get people angry about their race (intentional stereotyping and changing another person’s interpretation of it into another because “x race is gross and wrong, y race is superior.”

Yes, I suppose they have. But I always thought there weren’t as many of them, at least from what I witnesed myself. That’s my life experience, which is why I interpret it that way.  
If I move to Canada and live there, I’d be able to educate myself better about them.

Ahat’s what I’m talking about: everyone has their own imagiation, because those ponies never had a race to begin with, they aren’t even human.
 
If you ask me, I’d prefer humanized ponies to keep their colors from the show, because that’s basically their colors, which make them unique and recognizable!
 
But if I am forced to apply human races to them, then I’d go with my headcanon and imagination. For example, I always saw Zecora as a pretty black woman, while I saw some other ponies to be other skin colors, etc.

Honestly that’s fine. Plus, a lot of art depicting her as black honestly is some of the smoothest shit I’ve seen. ❤️ Off topic, be deadass can’t wait to see what they’ll do for her in the S10 comic. She was always an interesting character in the show and only got a lot of love in it towards the end.

You misunderstood me again. I didn’t mean that it’s “black accent”.
 
I meant that it’s a type of accent or a certain feel of the speech, that people from certain places on Earth have.
 
For example, Zecora’s accent makes me think of places like Africa, etc. It’s that “deep” accent, it’s difficult to explain it really. But I never heard it from places on earth where native population isn’t black.

Well, for the most part I feel like a lot of members of the Black community have a bit of a certain accent (for a lack of better words). For some it’s a lot more noticeable, but ofc not everybody will have that accent. Hell I feel like I have a bit of it every now and then in my own voice.

African American Vernacular English is a dialect that some - but definitely not all - black people speak. AAVE is also spoken by some people who are not black.
 
Some black people speak Standard American English. Some speak Southern American English or Joisey or every variety of other dialect, and it gets even more diverse once you expand to other countries.
 
AAVE exists and it’s valid but it’s wrong to presume that all black people speak it or that it’s only spoken by black people. That’s far too restrictive a view.

Yes, the idea is that characters speaking a slur to the viewer (rather than to another character) and similar would be gotten rid of, as obviously being racist.

False equivalency. We’re in the thread about anti-Nazi DNPs and people are coming in justifying downvoting based on skin color; pretty clearly bait meant to get people riled up.  
Let’s get back on topic before I have to pull out Rule #6 (off-topicness).

What strikes me about all of this is that I have yet to see a single argument that Nazi imagery is a positive thing that deserves to be enabled by the site. The closest thing that I’ve seen to addressing the subject itself are questionable-faith arguments about other political ideologies are just as bad, that don’t seem to be paired with any actual desire to examine to what standard they should be held.
 
There are things that are worth fighting for, and this isn’t one of them. If you’re worried about a slippery slope, find some more solid ground to dig your heels into.

White people live in Africa. It is not unique to black people, and while not a malicious type of racism like wishing for black genocide, it is racist to assume an accent is unique to a certain type of people. That’s not how accents form.

Doesn’t matter. Zecora is voiced by a woman of color. When she speaks her lines she sounds like a woman of color. The brains consuming Zecoras voice will predict and assume such things, and be right more than random. You can not disconnected race from any show because its informational content is made by people of various races contributing their preferences to the final product, and some of these characteristics are more accurately detectable than others.
 
It’s sort of like saying you can disconnect politics from pony, no you can’t because the show is made by people for people where-by the output of the show will inevitably deal in politics due to the need for conflict. The same is true for racial matters.
