seriously, we got so sick of that entire shit-show of a drama we actually not only allowed the derailing to happen, but actually officially recognized the derail's sovereignty by renaming the thread "the pizza thread".

it's called outcome bias. people tend to judge a plan of action by the results, rather than by whether or not it was a good idea in the moment it was made and executed. celestia freeing discord and twilight trusting starlight were *terribly* bad and risky moves as well, but they get defended because they happened to work out in the end.
 
example: walking up to t.j. dillashaw in the street and punching him in the dick. terrible idea, right? now if i did it and, for some reason, he rewarded my courage with 1000 dollars instead of murdering me right then and there, that doesn't magically make it a good idea.
