I heard McCarthy saidy the reason why Spike was a dragog in the movies was because, and I'm paraphrasing, that "you couldn't have Spike be in a backbpack if he were human, but a dog can fit right in".


 
That's probably the most ridiculous excuse I've heard in my life. She must have had a secret reason that she didn't want to disclose.
