First Contact did not go well. A combination of xenophobia, miscommunication, and ideological differences [spoiler]||and possibly deliberate sabotage[/spoiler]|| eventually led to war. Magic was nigh useless on Earth, and Humankind's highly advanced technology dominated the comparatively simple technology of Equestria and beyond. Combined with sheer weight of numbers, it was only a matter of time before Mankind achieved total control.
In the aftermath of the First Contact War, as it came to be known, the various inhabitants of Equiss came to be seen as spoils of war, and a new slave trade rose to prominence. Friends and families were often torn apart. The Mane 6, heroes before and during the war, were intentionally separated, as they would often cause trouble when left together and to their own devices.
Rainbow Dash had failed. She failed Equestria. She failed her home. She failed her family. She failed her friends. There was nothing left for her to fight for. Her spirit utterly broken, she made no effort to resist her enslavement. She'd silently do whatever she was told, no matter how difficult or demeaning. This was her life now. This was all that was left to her.
