I'm gonna have to watch the episode again to see if I caught it right. I thought Trixie said that without Starlight to teleport her out of the manticore "I would be a goner". After driving her only friend away/the only pony that knew about the trick and could help her with it safely. Trixie decided to carry on anyways, while sounding very depressed. As she prepares herself to get launched out of the canon, she says "Starlight, if you're out there.. Please savhelp me"


 
This is all going from my memory though, which is why my quotes aren't exact. I'll watch the episode again. It would have been nice if there were more hints that Trixie would survive just fine even if there wasn't any backup, but I guess that would have killed suspense.
