I think he became a professional artist and deleted his DA profile - didn't want it coming back to bite his career.
It's quite a common occurrence amongst great artists, when they turn pro they do that to protect themselves; understandable really that they need to, but a little sad too. All their early, fun, fan works just get...lost.
