I can totally see Zephyr having all his old mannerisms and airs, only he's a lot more charming and charismatic, and way less self-absorbed, and everypony loves the new him.
 
Then Rainbow Dash starts blushing every time he comes near her or talks to her, even though he's way more respectful and less in her face than he waused to be, and she starts avoiding him and wondering what it is she's feeling, before realizing she's crushing on him.
 
It'd be a cool way for the show to introduce a legitimate element of romance.
