Ask yourself this... iIf you like Pony, then does that means you have to like even the bad episodes/comics, and bad pony O.C.s?

 
The same logic applies to liking other series, even "controversial" ones like Sonic. (Heck, MLP is just as controversial in some places online too.)

Sadly though, due to the "Sonic spam fests," even some of the decent or good ones get downvoted to oblivion. I wish the haters would filter Sonic, and not feed the spammers.
