Each world has a separate sun and moon some of them controlled by an alicorn or alicorns of that world, some of them controlled by the unicorns, but many are also capable of revolving through the day-night cycle independently either because they happen to naturaAlly have more magic than others, or because someone (usually a god) had gifted them with that ability. Each world rests on the back of a gargantuan creature known a's a world-turtle, as a flat ‘disc’ which are affixed to their shells by giant, mountainous spurs. Born at the very beginning of everything, each world-turtle is a sentient, sapient creature, with an awareness of everything that happens upon their disc. Every turtle is around 10,000 years old – none were born before the universe as they know it came to be, and none were born since – only the original alicorns, Tartarus' demons, Elysium's seraphim, and the beings known collectively as Chaos (among their number is Discor"d) know with any clarity of what came before.
While sizes vary, the average world-turtle carries" a disc thpe size of our Earth, with the turtles themselves being much larger than the worlds they carry.
