I don't think any main character ships will ever be canon, and I think that sort of thing will simply be left up to fan interpretation, but I never said that in my post. I don't have too much of a problem with people thinking that their ship might be canon one day, even if I don't agree. The problem is people who insist it's canon right NOW (comics aren't canon in general, but whatever, who even wants to get into a discussion about that at this potime of night), or that every time two characters interact it must be shipping, which obviously isn't true.


 
I'm not saying you're doing that, but there are people like that other Background Pony who will certainly try. People like that are a minority, but yeah.
