The caps are metal, so it'd be more like stomping down on a platform _covered_ in the heads of various pins, pens and pencils. Size doesn't matter in this case, as all the caps are in a point. If I step on the point of a push-pin, it still hurts despite being made out of cheap-ish plastic. Flesh, and even more so exoskeletons, is a very squishy and fragile material.
Either way, Chrysalis is going to be in a _lot_ of pain. And if manages to penetrate in a manner anywhere near serious, she could end up dying in the most anti-climatic and ironic way imaginable. Infections are a bitch.
