The caps are metal, so it'd be more like stomping down on a platform _*covered_* in the heads of various pins, pens and pencils. Size doesn't matter in this case, as all the caps are in a point. If I step on the point of a push-pin, it still hurts despite being made out of cheap-ish plastic. Flesh, and even more so exoskeletons, is a very squishy and fragile material.


 
Not to mention the *tons* of glass she'd be breaking under her, Canterlot has been shown to have quite a few windows and glass hurts, and cuts, no matter how tiny when shattered.
 
Either way, Chrysalis is going to be in a _*lot_* of pain. And if manages to penetrate in a manner anywhere near serious, she could end up dying in the most anti-climatic and ironic way imaginable. Infections are a bitch.
