Personally, my only real problem with the alignment switch is that it happened too abruptly.


 
Pre-reformation & post-reformation Starlight Glimmer almost feel like completely different characters.
 
In that there's no intermediary stage(s) to link Pre-reformation Glimmer to Post-reformation Starlight.
