The Storm King's personal species, genetically created by him to serve as the perfect minions who always obey him 100%, and the indeed named them "Hench-hogs", to express that they both look like hedgehogs and are his ever loyal, mindless little puppets.


 
Somehow, this makes more sense than it should what with only having a picture of him so far. Then again, he does look mutated quite a bit, even for Equestria's standards with all sorts of creatures ofand species this world here has never seen, so this is very much possible.
