Well beauty is entirely subjective. Most "nerd" girls are not the standard type of attractive but some can certainly fall into that realm. Even then you are hard pressed to find one with a body like Twilight here.


 
As for those cosplay girls you are familiar with, sorry to say most of them aren't actual "nerd girls." They are models just dressing up for a job, sometimes playing it up to appeal to the demographic of people attending those events. It's a very easy and lucrative market if you have the looks for it, and most of them know how to work that angle. Not because they are genuinely passionate for nerd culture, just that they are good looking and can wear revealing clothes to attract nerdy men.
