That’s not what I’m seeing. i looked through the earlier comments, and from what I can tell, the debate began when some users expressed their disappointment with yet another blatant drama bait post about Starlight and criticized some of the haters for not having meaningful reasons to dislike Starlight. People (at least those who weren’t over-zealous or part of a vocal minority) were upset at this not because it expressed a negative opinion about Starlight, but rather because posts like these (in a meme format, no less) add nothing of value to the discussion and only further fan the flames.

And yet how many times have you been proven wrong and conceded only to go right back to making crap up in a different thread like the other one never happened? Glass houses.
Seriously, this keeps happening, someone makes a pic of Starlight that isn’t praise people show up and scream “HATERS!” and make up false excuses about anyone they disagree with someone proves them wrong and explains why the criticism exists and why it’s valid and then it’s over. Until the next picture or random comment pops up and the cycle repeats itself, like the memory span of a goldfish.
 
And if you look through the comments here you can see the debate here got started because people said anyone who criticizes Starlight are wrong/liars. Funny how people complain about these debates and then proceed to incite them.

They could still stay aside from it, uninvolved, or ignore it completely by hiding the Starlight Drama tag. It’s their own choice to jump in and become involved, even if just by reading the people debating. Bottom line, the claim of “I don’t care” is as fake as it gets.

I can assure you that wasn’t my intention at all. I was trying to explain that in “Magic Duel”, Trixie, like many of the other villains in the series, had to have her enhanced magic forcibly removed before any resolution could be reached. As you’ve already mentioned, it wouldn’t make sense for her to apologize before she lost the Amulet. Apologies if my initial statement was unclear.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at here. What I meant by that was Trixie apologized after Twilight took away the Alicorn Amulet from her and thus removed its control over her. (Twilight had to trick Trixie into handing over the Amulet because the artifact can only be removed by the current user.)
