The fact that the mane 6 doesn’t directly ask Sunset if she wants to join has no bearing on the fact that Sunset doesn’t express any outright interest in joining until the end. They know she has potential reasons for not wanting to perform with them, anyway.

In the sense that by the time Twilight confronted her Twilight had already gained substantial experience in reformations, yes. That’s not a bad thing, though; if nothing else, it showcases the growth of Twilight’s character.

Even though Twilight did eventually play her role in reforming Discord, observing Fluttershy and Discord was still a major step for her in understanding reformations, as that was the first time she was involved in any sort of reformation process. Discord is by nature an unpredictable individual and he just recently attempted to betrayed ponykind, so is it that hard to believe that, at the time, the mane six sans Fluttershy would be cautious around him? His evildoing aside, Discord’s trolling antics (which often involve warping reality) and unabashed personality can also make them wary. That’s also part of why it took longer for the mane 6 sans Fluttershy longer to warm up to him than to Starlight. Starlight, for all her magical prowess, isn’t anywhere near as big as a threat as Discord, who can bend the very fabric of reality on a whim.

Trixie only apologized after Twilight tricked the Alicorn Amulet away from her, and she realized how much of a fool she had made of herself. Starlight surrendered to Twilight when she was still in possession of Starswirl’s Spell and still had the means to escape. As for why Twilight would harbor resentment towards Trixie, let’s not forget she was the first and only villain to hold a grudge against Twilight and Twilight alone.

Knowing Twilight’s character, while Starlight’s magical abilities was certainly considered in deciding her fate, it’s likely that wasn’t the sole factor that led to selecting the option of reformation.

Starlight’s reformation certainly wasn’t perfect (especially when it was initially introduced), but it’s not as bad as some people are making it out to be. I, for one, definitely see merit to having her character and her story in the show. If you believe that Starlight’s reformation was “ridiculous”, that’s entirely fine with me. All I ask is that you don’t constantly complain about it and that you steer away from presenting your opinions as fact.

For real though, the PERSONAL reason i dont like starlight is because shes OP as fuck for abseloutly NO reason whatsoever. She is literally better at magic than the god element of magic herself! Like seriously? And she never ever learns.(they straight out SAID it in All botteled up).  
When starlight was a villain: uses magic to solve issues with ponies, and it goes wrong.

Alright I was just making sure, you’d be surprised how many people use those kinds of images in a serious manner. That guy I was telling about used that same image and made a rant about how the image was completely right and then he lost it when some people disagreed with him and the mods had to step in and tell him to chill.

Are you honestly questioning a meme image? It’s supposed to be an exaggeration. I’m not actually that annoyed, if at all. I’m well aware that the validity of statement is unrelated to how many times it has been said before; I was simply expressing that I’ve heard those particular sentiments before, and I’m not implying that I disagree with those sentiments because of that fact. My actual reasoning is laid out in the text below the image (if you can actually bring yourself to read it, that is). I’m not hand-waving anything here nor am I intolerant of others’ opinions; in fact, I’m almost insulted that you think I’m some sort of over-zealous Starlight fanatic (I dislike those types of people as much as I dislike the people who hate on Starlight for no particular reason). Again, the meme was to simply add a bit of humor to the statement (as they always are for); it’s not supposed to be taken at face value.

Hearing an argument made before does not in anyway make it less true or valid, it just means the problem is so obvious others have seen it as well.
 
Saying you’ve heard it before and trying to hand wave it away just shows you aren’t willing to listen or be reasonable and you are just gonna pretend everyone but you is wrong just because they have a different opinion.

Sunset never openly expressed any genuine desire to join the band until near the end of the film; given that they’ve known her in the past to be more of an independent person (and that at the time she was dreading public attention for certain reasons), the hu-mane 5 likely just assumed that she wasn’t interested in performing on stage with them. Even so, they definitely still saw and accepted her as a friend; In fact, they actually express their forgiveness to her again early on in the movie.
 
As for why Twilight would be nervous in trusting Sunset, keep in mind this is only the second reformation she has been involved in, and the very first that she had to manage directly. The first reformation she was caught up in was Discord, and we all know how skeptical of whole process she was then. By the time Starlight came around, she was the third reformation encountered by her. Twilight had already gained a great deal of experience in the matter from both witnessing Fluttershy handle Discord and interacting with Sunset since then, so she was much more confident in accepting Starlight’s decision to reform. Not mention, of course, that unlike Sunset (who required a friendship beam to see the error of her ways), Starlight ultimately turned herself in to Twilight, which definitely would have had an significant impact on the Princess of Friendship.
