So it only now needs a explanation, because this new thing of picking another pony needs an explanation and not the reason for picking the mane six?
And it's IS still working within the established purpose, it was never really established as anything more then "send pony to fix friendship problem".
Seems more people want to know why it picked someone else because it was Starlght.
