I don't think sexually torturing someone over a jealous misunderstanding qualifies as spoiling herself, and the Element Bearers tend to get what they want because of the nature of the show and, well, nine times out of ten what the other person in these issues wants tends to be pretty dickish.ThNisle is actually has the same issue people had with Dukat in Deep Space Nine had; the few funny and human moments overshadowed the heinous things in the eyes of the audience.
Plus, while Rarity's actions may seem in character on a surface level, they lack some of HER more endearing moments to make her seem like JUST the stupid vapid popular girl cliche that she was designed to subvert.
Long story short: Blue Nile is a hentai protagonist. She makes the sexy stuff happen, but she is by no means a good person.
