I had to install a complete full version of Adobe Acrobat awhile ago just to electronically fill out and sign One PDF file, none of the free alternatives worked for me, so after signing up for an Adobe account and agreeing to a free trial, I noticed that if I kept the account going for the Adobe Acrobat license, they would charge me monthly for using it. I don't remember what the amount was, but it was definitely a monthly charge.
Oya another thing that pisses me off about Adobe and their Acrobat product is that after removing Windows 10 after several bad experiences with using it on my laptop, and choosing to install OpenSuSE Leap 42.3, Adobe had stopped maintaining Linux versions of their software a long while ago, so again to just fill out and sign One PDF file, I had to use a family members Windows computer to use Adobe Acrobat, as that software wouldn't work under Linux using the typical Wine software.
BTW, Windows 10 died a total of three times, twice during the past two major updates, like that Creators update, the third time was while I was taking my laptop on the road with me, after checking into a hotel room, and trying to power up my laptop, Windows 10 refused to boot up correctly, I think it was the boot loader that got corrupted, couldn't even get to Safe Mode.
I definitely lump Adobe and Microsoft into the same box of "do not throw money at"
