Your thinking too linear about fetishes. It doesn't necessarily have to be a direct scar fetish for a scar to increase attractiveness. Hardcore/Badass bodily attributes can be a very common fetish. While it's more common with the reversal, attractive male men with war scars tropes and such, it's become increasingly more common among females as well. Female barbarioans, battle -scarred amazons, etc.


 
But Rarity is old fashion in many ways, so it's natural she wouldn't understand this and try to own it without a lot of convincing.
