That's why I'm not really a fan of comics with stories being too long or dragged on too much.

That's why I'm not really a fan of comics with stories being too long or dragged on too much.
Fatigue sets in a once passion project which in some cases turns to dislike.
This can cause the loss of direction to the plot or an overall ruination of the story.
The perception to reality of an artist changes from the beginning of the comic project
as time goes by and it has effect on the content of the story
One very dramatic and serious comic that went on for years ended up in a
silly comedic parody of undertale before the artist suddenly quit his comic altogether.
Some don't even get finished.
Of all the long MLP based comic I've seen I can think of two that retained their direction and consistency
till the conclusion.

The best way to remedy this is work with a script from the start and stick with it.
Second is make episodic comics with their own direction.
