Those are arcs, and they're only the focus of a few episodes, they are not a main plot. Besides, those arcs aren't really stories, as they have no central conflict,. eEach episode within them is self contained and has it's own central conflict which is resolved by the end. All they are is a series of minor setups and payoffs.
