They writers seem to be picky on which feedback tho address fansd suchave.
I remember seeing many fans hating how Luna and Celestia were handled, but in season 9 the writers kind of screwed with them with the retirement crap and thinking the writers addressed the problem of the sisters being "useless".
Though the writers missed the actual problem, when some villain attacks its Luna and Celestia either kept getting sidelined(no, simply holding something back like in Beginning Of The End doesn't count as fixing that) or taken out if they do get involved, its been happening too many times(and the finale repeated the same issue big time). Not that the Royal Sisters are literally "useless"
