This reminds me of this guy on a message board that kept denying that Nintendo would release Pokémon Crystal on the Virtual Console even though dataminers had found evidence for it (and for Pokémon Gold & Silver too before those were officially announced).
Finally after months of denying it, when Nintendo announced it he got pissed off and would constantly rant about how "greedy" Nintendo was and that he bought Gold with the idea that Crystal would never be released.
And he was arguing about this even before Pokémon Gold & Silver were released on the Virtual Console.
