Actually that's kinda on Granny Smith. They didn't even try to negotiate, and that's rather annoying.
Instead of just rejecting the offer they could've said they needed a bigger share of the profits to stay afloat, and then Flim and Flam could've carefully gone over the math with them to make a win-win arrangement, where the increased productivity would mean more cider sold, and though the Apples would make less bits per mug of cider, the increased number of sales could've made them more bits ultimately, and Flim and Flam could've calculated where that'd be, and made a profit from anything more.
Heck, they could've said "after all the apples are used up, let's take all the profits, you get what you normally get every year - _plus fifteen percent!_ - and we'll take the rest!" and made it a zero-risk investment for the Apples.
That's honestly the most annoying thing about the episode. Everyone could've won...
