Indeed, though unfortunately due to internet definitions having varying sources, including some claiming "Derpy" means "retarded" (even though most don't use it in that sense) apparently is supposedly more "offensive" then say a goofy character named "Goofy," therefore not as easy to get away with.

Things are so P.C. nowadays, I saw the word "midget" bleeped on a show recently.
 
TMNT 2012 got away with saying "derp" though, and even had an evil clone of April called the "April Derp."
