It's like an easter egg within an easter egg. You have Vector Crocodile as Alexander Anderson (because of the sonic fan/Brony rivalrly just as the Hellsing organizations' rivalry with the Catholic church.)
In my head-cannon Vector serves in the Grey Knight Order (40k reference seems fitting as Sega does have publishing rights over Warhammer, and lets be honest, The IScariots also seem to follow the same "scorched earth" policy as the Grey knights)
Crocodiles, like most reptiles have the natural ability to regenerate just as Anderson is able to self heal from most damage.
The other reason is because I think Vector is one of the few (if not only one) of the Sonicverse characters who can actually pull of the look if done right. Like how whenever Anderson talks he hardly ever uses his lips he always has that "chomper" method of using his mouth that and he's always baring his teeth.
I mean there are just so many similarities between the two.
I dunno I'm kinda weird like that I guess.
Also I think Fluttershy makes the best Seras Victoria.
