No offense, but do you ever say anything positive?


 
While you have a point, that story should come before things "gender-balance-ratio," it doesn't hurt to have a few boy characters like Spike in a "girly" show, or more girls in "boy shows," and such. It doesn't hurt to change things up sometimes, while still focusing on story.  
That said, I don't really mind it that MLP:FiM focuses more on the female characters.
