Oh yeah, he became the ECH, Emergency Command Hologram, as I remember, twice in one episode. First in the holodeck (aliens were watching a live feed of him kicking ass), and then a second, where he was doing it "for realsies," against the same aliens, and was quite timid at first, when going up against a powtherful enemy. I think his poker face & bluffing won the day...? Loved that episode.


 
Man, I wish I could remember +__exactly+__ what happened IRL, but alas, it's a little too far down the memory hole to retrieve at the moment. It had to do with Twitter, John deLancie _*might have_* been involved, but IIRC, Picardo gave some financial help to...dammit, I can't remember...!


 
I can remember The Doctor taking control of Voyager, 20 years ago, but not something that happened in real life less than 10. :(
