Such as with my comics, I explained that basically they are new beings/individuals while the component ponies remain independent amnd act as a conscious for the fusion pony. Kind of like the movie "Inside Out", only instead of being specific emotions its complete and intact ponies within the fusions conscious indirectly influencing the actions and choices of the pony.
