I'm not much of a 'shipper either, but as I said I have nothing against those that do, (as long as they don't get too obsessive) and I've even upvoted or faved pics of 'ships I don't care for, because I like the artwork itself.
I did kinda like CheeriMac a teeny tiny bit, but I'm fine with him having a different girlfriend in canon regardless. I remember some had a cow over that sinking their 'ship, but if they want they can still stick to their canon, or just move on to something else. It's best not to let things like that ruin the show for you.

Yeah, plus romance was never a big part of the show, and Faust herself was actually against the Mane 6 having romantic interests, because she didn't want it to become a typical "girl show."
