And yeah, I found that funny too. Some assumed the comics would be a safe haven from everything they hate about the show, and yet they weren't.  
(Frankly, it seems the show has had a better track record then the comics, seeing as most bronies are divided, onr out right hate them. I hear kids like the comics though, at least.)

Though, the comics had some nice things too, like Discord befriending the CMC.
 
Similarly, I'm surprised many were shocked Cadance's baby was an alicorn, which I saw coming frankly.
