After reading this, I finally decided to read the Cosmos arc of IDW (which I never read before) since it supposedly provides the canon origin for Discord.

Said origin, as it turns out, is "Discord did nothing wrong and all was all Cosmos' fault".

And I have to say, after reading the origin in this picture, the actual origin is...underwhelming.

Especially since Cosmos is a pretty cool villain. I like the idea of a Chaos Goddess (or Malice Goddess, in this case) that doesn't fuck around, and I like how the different star shards were possessing/corrupting the Ponies.
