Heck, Yosemite Sam's been sent to Hell before. That's way more edgier then a few MLP cartoony visual gags.

And inflated her head, and stretched her neck 10 feet, produced disguises out of nowhere, roll around like a ball, amongst other things. MLP:FIM has had alot of Looney Tunes-esc gags.
I'm surprised fans act like it's a new/strange thing.
