I thank you for commissioning this, regardless of whatever I might think of Lightning Dust's character, because it makes for good art.
In any case, Flim and Flam cared enough to throw their hat in with the heroes, whether it was for altruistic reasons ("even we're not that bad"), selfish reasons ("the end of the world is bad for business"), or a mixture of both, so it wouldn't be that hard to see Lightning doing the same, depending on the interpretation.
