This is quite similar to some characters in my works - EqG-like tree aliens who have converted to Rodnovery after being influenced by neighbouring human countries.
Mostly because they either like certain gods (such as Jarilo, the god of plants), or they're desperate and religious enough to invoke whatever deities they find for their blessings. Or they were simply influenced by their neighbours, so they adopted the humans' customs because they think they are beautiful.
