Indeed, and frankly I'll even accept a WTF obscure character like Mach Rider.
Let's not forget not every popular character was a popular fan request. Nobody requested the Ice Climbers, Mr. G&W, ROB, and many others, and they're quite beloved in SSB now.
So I wish SSB fans would be more open minded. SSB got me into many games I previously never played.
