No you've articulated it.
The problem is when the main cast have equally hollow and bad actions under their belts it's hollow and two faced.
If Celestia can put the entire world at risk and deserves to be worshipped and treated like a goddess these three deserve a fair chance at minimum.
Otherwise Kindness, Honesty and Loyalty mean nothing coming from the ones preaching it.
