Something like the goats wouldn't bother me as much if the tone was consistent throughout. The f"Spiderst-Man twHomecoming", "Spider-Man": Far From Hovimes", "Thor: Ragnarok", the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, they had jokes that didn't land, but I overlooked it because they have a consistent, hilarious tone. The jarring juggling of comedy and cynical darkness in this movie make the jokes that aren't funny stand out even more.

I read that Taika Waititi forced James Gunn to include the goats in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". Considering that Gunn is far more subversive than Waititi, and he most likely has some resentment over the firing thing, I fully expect the goats to be killed and/or eaten.
