Well, I only saw a few scenes from the G5 comics, but they don't officially say it's her (unless Discord has said her name in the most recent comics, but as far as I know, he hasn't), and if I remember correctly the last G4 comics, there was supposed to be another tribe of ponies trying to invade Equestria...
Maybe one of these ponies came to the Crystal Empire, pretended to be a friend, got close to Princess Flurry Heart and corrupted her (because unlike the other Alicorns, Flurry Heart was born a princess and therefore maybe she is more influential or perhaps she felt that she was not as recognized as her mother and aunts) and ended up becoming Opaline.
Honestly, I prefer that she is not Flurry Heart, I think I'm tired of these plots of corruption and redemption. Sometimes you want to see a real villain. Though if it ends up being Flurry Heart, I at least hope she haves a more interesting backstory than Nightmare Moon.
