Yeah, Fluttershy has always been the fandom's darling right from her first squeak on camera and any poll that she was in, she was gonna take the W and fly away with it with Derpy most likely giving her a run for her money.
I think even if a modern poll would be made about best FIM characters years after it ended, she'd most likely still be at the top even with stiffer competition like Starlight, Trixie, Autumn Blaze, etc.
Edit: Feels weird saying this historical retrospective surrounded by all these old golden age fandom comments from around the time of the poll. :V
