I was still in my late teens when I read it. Talking about it makes me want to read it again.
IIRC the book is supposed to be an essay about "The Navidson Record" (the film documenting the exploration of the titular house) written by a guy named Zampanò, which was found and annotated by Johnny Truant who goes on tangents to tell his own story (which becomes increasingly unreliable) while compiling Zampanò's notes, and also includes letters from his increasingly mentally unstable mother in the appendix for some reason. That's what I recall at least. Did I get anything wrong? Or forgot something? (probably)
