Yes. Yes it is.
Indeed.
Can’t argue with that.
Indeed, I don’t think it’s necessary for it to be blue, either, though it is.
Looks at sky
I remain unconvinced as to the sky’s blueness.
I’d like to think some of us may understand the difference between Mario & Sonic and Mario & Maria (an actual game on the Atari before Nintendo sued the party(ies) responsible. XD )
I’m unconvinced.
But we got something out of it anyway.
Here you go.
Trademark Dilution is also relevant.
Yeah, modern American copyright sucks.
It got too high profile for them to just ignore.
Protect their trademarks from non-commercial usage?
The folks at Hasbro might have even loved things like Fighting is Magic but they still have to protect their trademarks or risk losing them.
“Let’s say”
It IS real, it’s from their official Twitter account.
This card under licensing from Hasbro referenced a game that was shut down by Hasbro.
Its less about ‘canon-icity’ and more about ‘what Hasbro is willing to sign off on to be put in something official’. There are thousands of ideas and concepts that Hasbro is not willing to play towards in any official function, and this, surprisingly, is not one of them.
Of course most cards aren’t going to be considered canon, but mostly it plays around with main characters and background characters and either tells something we already know, or tells us something interesting but irrelevant, like a random background pony’s occupation.
This is in an entirely different category. Very similar to the the Nightmare Star card.
What is the ‘intent’ behind cards like these? Simple, to create some buzz and get some feedback about potential ideas. A simple picture on a card is not enough establish any canon-icity, but it is enough to get feedback on ideas they potentially endorse.
You’ve gotta take it with a grain of salt. The CCG occupies a level of canon somewhere between “blind bag collector cards” and “Meghan McCarthy’s drunk-tweeting.” They let you play Sombra as a good guy FFS.
Wow, if we take this as legit, the sirens being more human(or the equivalent, pony) after getting hit by the beam was a real thing. I wonder if they regain their powers through non-evil methods (I notice Sonata has her pendent) that they can shift between pony and siren at will? That would be sweet.
I would never do such a thing.
And you’re entitled to think that, but don’t go spreading out-of-context BS as fact.
I’ve found that more people are forgiving to poor art when it has good story than poor story when it has good art so…
I think the writing quality proves he thinks story doesn’t matter.
Yes, but people took them completely out of context and think that he hates writers for some reason, or thinks that story doesn’t matter.
Edited because: addendum
It still says artists are more important than writers. Advice or not, that’s a shitty thing to say, especially for someone with his job.
Weren’t those tweets made as advice for up and comers to first break into the field? Something about the context being in the vein of “People always judge a book by its cover, so make sure that first impression at least gets your foot in the door.”
