I feel like the only way for you to redeem yourself from being controlled is to free yourself and win against your controller, but if someone else frees you, then that means you didn’t redeem yourself and never can, but not only does Shining Armor never do it, but he couldn’t even resist slightly. Shining Armor isn’t a stallion. And then he dies like a bitch. I wanted him to get revenge on Sombra, to regain his manhood and worth.
I’m sick of all the fan creations where Shining Armor dies, gets horribly injured, gets humiliated, gets controlled, gets raped (forcing him to cheat), gets tricked into cheating on his wife, and loses. It’s not that I’m a Shining Armor fanboy, and he’s far from the top of my list of favorite characters, and it’s not that I’m against the concept of bad things happening to characters, but with everyone else, the percentage of their fan creations involving this is much smaller than Shining Armor’s; there’s so much more art of them that isn’t stuff like that, so I’m fine with it, but Shining Armor has a much higher percentage of art where he gets the short end of the stick. I don’t know why. Shining Armor gets fucked over so much, it should be a genre. “Shining Armor gets the short end of the stick” should be a tag on Derpibooru. He’s the Meg/Squidward of the fandom. I hate characters who exist to be abused and lose, to be punching bags. I’m fine with most of the individual instances (this being 1 of the exceptions), but when you combine them all together, it means shining Armor is constantly, eternally getting buttfucked by the fandom. Why does the fandom hate him so much? Why do they keep doing this to him if he’s supposedly such a popular character that they love?
