Thinking of a distraction, he remembers the crystal ball. Perhaps that could work…
 
Emerald takes out the crystal ball and hurls it at the side of the room, hoping to distract the bug creatures.
 
When it clanks loudly against the opposite wall many of the monsters look for a brief second before bounding towards it and attempting to jam their noses into it, causing them to slip off the rounded surface and whiff or accidentally poke one of their brethren, causing them to slip into a small fight before noticing the orb again.
 
Emerald dashes for the light without looking back and runs up the slope. He can see light, but not where it’s coming from. How far down is he?
 
As he makes his way up, he hears footsteps from behind him and sees that two of the bug creatures didn’t fall for the trick however, and are closing in on him. What does Emerald do?
